Adding value
One of the major benefits of doing business on the internet is the ability to show off your other services and benefits to a customer who has bought for the first time.
The internet is all about accessibility and if visitors know where to find a particular solution then that’s what they’ll do. So work out what else you can promote to accessorise their original purchase.
Always think of a purchase as an opportunity to sell more.
Adding value is not just financial inducements like offers on products or services but can include articles, downloads, videos and blog pages, anything you believe they will value and think of you! RSS feeds are particularly professional and effective for key clients.
To work properly, added value products have to be part of your marketing strategy. These products are often thrown in at the end of the sales process – almost as a give away - and yet they can do so much more for your business.
Opening up a members section lets you personalise your relationship, maintaining communications and convincing them you care. Ask their opinions and brainstorm what they really want. Do they think you supply it? This is great marketing feedback!
Added value keeps visitors focused on you and gives you a level of constancy until they’re ready to make another purchase. When you work out their buying pattern (their “itch point”) you can start building towards the big day with extra offerings and articles to the point where you’re in daily contact.
Make it happen.
